NCP fields 31 in Rajasthan; may field some more
Jaipur, Nov 13 (UNI) After failed efforts for an alliance with the Congress for the ensuing Assembly election in Rajasthan, the Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) today released its list of 31 candidates.
Talking to reporters here party state president Ramesh Dadheech said with the motive to oust the BJP out of power in some states going to polls, party chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had given a call for contesting the assembly elections in the states jointly by the UPA allies.
Accordingly, the party made efforts for an alliance with the Congress in Rajasthan but due to ''shortsighted approach by some state leadersm'' these could not succeed.
Now, the party has announced names of 31 contestants and might field on a few more seats, Mr Dadheech said.
