Free Software seminar from November 15
Kochi, Nov 13 (UNI) Over 1,500 delegates will participate in the two-day 'National Seminar on Free Software-2008' to be held here on November 15-16.
Organised by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in association with the Kerala Government's IT @ School Project, ATPS and OSSICS Ltd, the seminar would be a platform for developers and entrepreneurs of the free software spectrum to discuss the latest developments in this field.
Interacting with reporters at the CUSAT campus here, Pro- Vice Chancellor N D Eanashu said open forums and workshops would also be held as part of the seminar.
Besides, a science exhibition would also be organised to inculcate a scienctific temper among the visitors, he added.
As part of the seminar, to be inaugurated by Kerala Education Minister M A Baby, a plenary session on 'Global Financial Crisis and its Impact on IT Sector' would be conducted featuring Parliamentarian Sitaram Yechury and State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Dr Prabhat Patnaik as speakers.
