BJP begins preparation for Lok Sabha elections

Imphal, Nov 13 (UNI) The BJP in Manipur has started preparation for the next Lok Sabha elections by initiating talks with the regional parties like the Manipur People's Party (MPP).

The two parties, however, were not able to reach a consensus on projection of candidates, party sources said adding enrolment of members in BJP to contest the election are in full swing.

Former minister, Viveraj Wangkhem and former MLA Laisom Ibomcha have joined the party.

'' There is strong possibility of other leaders joining the BJP ''.

party sources said.

During the last Assembly elections the party was not able to win a single seat though there were five MLAs in the previous state Assembly.
