Workers ransack office after labourer's death

Angul, Nov 12(UNI) Irate workers today ransacked the office of Bhushan Steel Plant at Banarpal near here following the death of a labourer at the work site.

Police said one Himansu Sahu(30) died after he was hit by a proclain machine from behind at the stage-II construction work site of the plant.

Mr Sahu was carried by his co-workers to a nearby nursing home where he was declared dead.

Soon after irate workers ransacked the private owned company office demanding adequate compensation.

Police have arrested 12 persons in connection with the incident and sent the body for postmortem.

A worker was also killed in an accident at the plant site about a fortnight ago.
