State to felicitate 100 people on Classical status to Kannada
Bangalore, Nov 12(UNI) Karnataka government will felicitate as many 100 persons, including former Mysore University Vice Chancellor Javare Gowda, who worked for the cause of getting 'Classical Status to Kannada', Transport Minister R Ashok said today.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will felicitate 100 dignitaries who had taken up the cause of Kannada.
He said a felicitation function would be organised in front of the Vidhana Soudha, the state Secretariat.
The dignitaries will also be awarded a gold medal and honours.
Celebrations will be organised at district and taluk levels.
