Several feared dead as minibus plunges into Chenab

Doda, Jammu, Nov 12 (UNI) At least ten passengers were feared dead in an accident when a rashly-driven minibus rolled into the river Chenab near Prem Nagar here this afternoon, official sources said.

The minibus was on its way from Thathri to Pul Doda when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it skidded off the road and plunged into the river Chenab near Prem Nagar, the sources said.

''At least ten bodies were reportedly brought out from the site of accident while rescue work was still on,'' a police source told UNI.

The number of causalties would certainly be more as minibuses in the area generally ply over-crowed, the sources added.
