RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 48.79 per USD

Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 48.79 per unit, up by Re 1.20 paise, against its yesterday's rate of Rs 47.59 per dollar.

Simiarly, the reference rate for Euro also surged by 91 paise to Rs 61.48 per unit from its last close of Rs 60.57 per unit, an RBI release said.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the rupee were quoted at Rs 75.4196 (Rs 74.5521) per Pound and Rs 49.92 (Rs 48.57) per 100 units of Yen, the release added.
