MDMK cadres observe fast on Lankan Tamils issue
Tiruchirapalli, Nov 12 (UNI) Volunteers of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) today observed a day-long fast near Anna Statue here in support of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
Led by party district unit secretary A Mallarmannan, they demanded that the Sri Lankan government stop the genocide against Tamils by military troops.
They urged the Indian government to immediately take steps with the Sri Lankan government to ensure protection of ethnic Tamils.
Mr Mallarmannan said similar fast was held in Karur, Pudukkottai and Perambalur districts.
