Man imprisoned for year in Dalit's harassment case

Gonda, Nov 12 (UNI) A special Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Court today awarded one year of jail term to a person accused of harassing a dalit.

Special Judge Shyam Bihari Sharma found Narsingh guilty of thrashing and threatening Satyanarayan and his wife in Nawabganj locality on October 27, 1997.

Besides a year's incarceration order, the Court imposed a penalty of Rs 3,000 upon the accused.
