Himachal Governor and CM greet people on Gurpurab

Shimla, Nov. 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Prabha Rau and Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal have felicitated the people of the State on the occasion of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

In her greeting, Mrs Rau said that Gurpurb symbolised global peace, love and brotherhood. She expressed the hope that this would foster the bonds of brotherhood further thereby strengthening the unity and integrity of the country.

In his felicitations, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, of love, peace, universal brotherhood and respect for all religions were more relevant today.

He said that the first guru of the Sikh faith was a great spiritual ambassador who showed us the path of salvation by spreading the message of devotion to God and compassion for the mankind.
