Deshpande welcomes AICC decision on Margret Alva

Bangalore, Nov 12 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R V Deshpande today welcomed the decision of the party High Command for accepting the resignation of AICC General Secretary Ms Margret Alva and relieving her of the responsibilities of the party with immediate effect.

He told reporters here with this swift action against the indiscipline in the party, the High Command has sent a message to party leaders and workers that indiscipline would not be tolerated any more.

Objecting to Ms Alva's statement of cash-for-tickets during the last assembly elections in the state, he said she did not raise this issue during the elections or immediately after it.

What is the use of raising it now after six months of the polls, he said.
