ABVP bandh effects Govt colleges in Sikkim
Gangtok, Nov 12 (UNI) Government colleges in Sikkim remained closed today in response to the nation wide college strike called by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
The ABVP had called the strike to demand a check on the influx of Bangladeshis in India which, it claimed, was responsible for the recent rise in terrorist activities in the country.
Tadong Government college, the Law College located in Gangtok and Namchi Government College in South district were shut down by the ABVP's Sikkim wing.
The strike was incident-free.
