ONGC inks MoU with UCIL for uranium exploration

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) With a view to pursuing uranium resource exploration and development in the country, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL).

The MoU was signed here by ONGC CMD R S Sharma and Mr Ramendra Gupta, CMD, UCIL representing their respective corporates.

The documents were exchanged in the presence of Dr Anil Kakodkar, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy.

The occasion was preceded by extensive discussions on related aspects. The initiative is based on the complementing expertise and experience of the two organisations.

ONGC has rich experience and expertise in the field of hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation.

UCIL on the other hand is on the forefront of the uranium mining and processing ably backed by Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research headed by Dr Anjan Chaki.
