Students' union poll: mob torches vehicle, 17 detained

Ballia, Nov 10 (UNI) Students in this district of U P today called a curfew and torched a telecom department jeep to press for their demand of students' union election.

Besides, the irked mob pelted stones on an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus and wounded its driver.

Police detained 17 student leaders during the agitation, Superintendent of Police (SP) Lalji Shukla said.

The students had called a day's curfew today over their demand of students' union polls.
