SC orders speedy trial of Pakistani prisoners
New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed the authorities to complete the trial of all Pakistani prisoners languishing in various Indian jails within one year.
A bench comprising Justices B N Agrawal and G S Singhvi issued the directions on a petition filed by Panther's Party chief Bhim Singh.
The apex court also directed the authorities to transfer the case records of all PoK prisoners to the concerned court within one month.
There are over 30 such prisoners who had been languishing in the Indian jails for long but many of them are facing serious charges of indulging in terrorist and anti-national activities.
Mr Singh has sought the expeditious disposal of cases pending against the Pakistani prisoners in the Indian jails.
