Resolution adopted at Panchayat to recall Commissioner

Puducherry, Nov 10 (UNI) A resolution seeking the territorial administration to recall the Commissioner was today adopted at the Villianur commune Panchayat council meeting here.

The resolution pointed out that Commissioner Mr Anichan failed to undertake essential works and mobilise revenue for the commune Panchayat. In such a case there was no use in allowing him to continue. The government should appoint another competent person in his place.

It was also decided that the next council meeting would not be convened till the government appoints another Chairman.

The resolution was moved by Vice-President Shankar alias Radhakrishnan. 12 out of the 18 Councillors, who attended the meeting, signed it irrespective of their party affiliation.
