CPI urges PM to ensure ceasefire in Sri Lanka
Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) CPI Tamil Nadu Secretary D Pandian today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ensure that the war against the Sri Lankan Tamils was stopped.
A release from the party office said Mr Pandian in a letter addressed to Dr Singh appealed to him to impress upon the Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapakse to stop the war and agree for a cease-fire.
The CPI leader urged the Prime Minister to resolve the ethnic conflict in Lanka amicably or otherwise negative impact on India will have long-term repercussions, the release added.
