Bengal score 210 all out on day one ; MP four for one

Gwalior, November 10 (UNI) With the help of a fine half century (66) by Ritam Kundu and a compact 38 by Bardhaman Shah Bengal managed to score 210 all out on the opening day of the four-day Ranji Trophy match at the Captain Roop Singh stadium here today.

In reply hosts Madhya Pradesh were four for one when the stumps were drawn.Opner Himalay Sagar was out for nought while Naman Ojha and Sunil Gholpure remained not out without opening their account.

Earlier, MP captain Rishikesh Kanitkar won the toss and decided to field in a bowler-friendly pitch.

Bengal began their innings in a disastrous note as openers Anustup Mazumdar (5) was out cheaply and next batsman Arindam Ghosh also scored 5.But wicket keeper-cum-opener Sribatsya Goswami gave some resitance in the other end. The India colt player scored 22 with the help of five boundaries.

Indian ODI player Manoj Tiwary (7), captain Laxmi Ratan Shukla(11) also disappointed.But a fine 66 by Kundu and quick-fire 38 by Shah saved the day for Bengal.While Kundu hit nine boundaries, Shah hit the ropes sixth times in his 38 runs.Ranadeb Bose (14) contributed handsomely with a valuable 75 runs partnership with Kundu.

For Madya Pradesh Shantanu Pitray and Yogesh Golwar notched up three wicktes each while Sanjay Pandey took two wickets and Sunil Gholpure and Devendra Bundela had one wicket each.
