ANC promises to resolve Kashmir issue if voted to power
Srinagar, Nov 10 (UNI) Considering Kashmir still as an unresolved issue, the Awami National Conference (ANC), participating in the state Assembly polls after 1987, today said if voted to power, it would leave no stone unturned to facilitate the resolution of the issue and pursue it with the spirit of a crusade.
In its election manifesto, released here, the party said the Kashmir issue could not be resolved by short term measures or self rule or autonomy.
Unemployment, economic mismanagement, mayhem, disorder and indiscipline had become the order of the day and added to the woes of the common people, the ANC regretted.
The only honest and practical way to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue was tripartite dialogue between--India, Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, party stated.
If the party would come in power, ANC promised to make borders irrelevant for trade and commerce with Central Asia, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The party also said it would take steps to meet the challenge of unemployment, power problem besides improve human rights, protect forests, tourism, water bodies, economy, agriculture, education, horticulture, industries and fight against corruption.
