Accused in Moddu Sreenu murder case remanded

Hyderabad, Nov 10 (UNI) The accused Om Prakash, who murdered Moddu Sreenu, the main accused in the former TDP Minister Paritala Ravi murder case, was today remanded to judicial coustody for 12 days.

The Ananthapur district police today produced Om Prakash before the Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Court at Ananthapur who remanded him to 12 days judicial custody.

The judge also gave permission for three days police custody from tomorrow on the petition submited by the district police in the court.

The District Superintendent of Police, Ananthapur M.K Singh told UNI that the Om Praksah would be taken into their cusotdy as per the direction of the court from tomorrow for three days.

Meanwhile the prison authorities today suspended two head- warders of the Ananthapur jail in connection with the murder bringing the total number of suspension to four.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police B Sunil Kumar, who visited the jail, told UNI here that two head warders M.V. Ramana Raju and Srinivasulu were suspended in the incident.

Yesterday the jail authorities suspended two warders M L Mallikarjun and Vasanth Kumar.

The Andhra Pradesh Human Rights commission Chairman Justice B.Subhashan Reddy today asked the District Superitendent of Police and Jail Authorities, Ananthapur to submit a report on the murder of Moddu Sreenu.

Meanwhile Sreenu's wife Lakshmi Rajyam demanded the state govenment to identify and punish the conspirators involved in her husband's murder, besides ordering an inquiry by a sitting high court judge into the issue.

Relatives of Sreeu including his mother staged a rasta roko on the Addanki-Nakeerekal road in Guntur district demanding the Andhra Pradesh govrnment to conduct a re-post morterm of the body.

The main accused in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Legislator Paritala Ravi murder case was beaten to death by an undertrial in the Central jail here while he was asleep early yesterday.

Om Prakash, an inter-state gang leader lodged in the same barrack with Moddu Sreenu, had allegedly beaten up Sreenu and smashed his head with cement dumbells.
