Militant plan to cause disturbances during poll foiled

Srinagar, Nov 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police foiled a militant plan to cause disturbances during elections when they detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the city, official sources said today.

They said based on a tip off, a special police party intercepted a vehicle near Batmaloo bus stand.

During the search of the vehicle, an IED was recovered from tool box. The driver was taken into custody, they said adding the IED was meant to cause disturbances during the election process in the city.
