Security to be beefed up in Rajasthan-MP border

Bhopal, Nov 9: Election Commission has issued orders to launch an intensive search operation at the border of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in view of Assembly polls. Official sources said on Sunday, Nov 9 that the authorities have been asked to take stern action on vehicles crossing the borders, anti-social elements, liquor, arms and unaccounted cash.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary was asked to beef up the security in the state's districts, bordering Rajasthan immediately besides adopting precautionary measures. A round the clock search drive would also be launched against the vehicles crossing the borders.

Besides set check posts, mobile search would also be take place and the action would be taken all of a sudden.

Both the states would undertake the task by mutual discussions and suggestions.

In order to stop the movement of anti-social elements from both the states, the border would be sealed during 48 hours after the polls. The Election Commission had cautioned after taking stock of the situation regarding polls in Rajasthan.
