BJP's Vyapar Hunkar rally on Nov 18

Lucknow, Nov 9 (UNI) To protest the rising prices of essential commodities due to hike in taxes by the Mayawati government, BJP would hold a ' Vyapar Hunkar Rally' here on November 18 where party president Rajnath Singh will be the main speaker.

Addressing a press conference here, senior BJP leader and former state minister Lalji Tandon said that the rally would take up all issues of the atrocities committed on the traders and the people of the business community in the state.

''The recent imposition of 5 per cent entry tax on disel and additional taxes on several other commodities have forced rise in the prices of essential commodites in the state by at least 20 per cent,'' he said.

Criticising the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh for not looking towards the trader community, he said BJP's Vyapar Hunkar Rally to be held at Jyoti ba Phule park would give all the small traders and businessmen a platform to voice their concerns.

Commenting on the bad law and order situation in the state,he said more than 26,000 small and medium industrial units had left the state in the last one year while the crime against the traders have increased.

Referring to the recently dacoity at the residence of Khunkhunji jewellers in the state capital, he said every day one jeweller's was being looted somewhere in the state.
