45 zonal and sectoral magistrates appointed for 3 segments

Srinagar, Nov 9 (UNI) As the polling date approaches, the authorities appointed 45 magistrates to ensure free, fair and peaceful election in three Assembly segments which will go to polls in the first phase on November 17 in the Kashmir valley.

Four Assembly segments in Ladakh region and three in Poonch will also go to polls in the first phase of seven-phased polls in the state.

Officials said today that 15 zonal and 30 sectoral magistrates have been appointed for three Assembly segments of Bandipora, Sonawari and Gurez.

They said the district election officer apprised the selected officers about the code of conduct and urged them to adhere to it strictly.

Meanwhile, the election observer Sonawari, Aanandu Majumdar reviewed the arrangements with returning and assistant returning officers at Sumbal, Sonawari today.
