Wipro launches premium Office furniture
Bangalore, Nov 8 (UNI) Wipro Furniture Business, arm of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, today launched India's first 'Leg and Beam based System' ''I'M'', a premium office furniture range.
Speaking after the launch here, Mr Vineet Agarwal, President Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, said the newly launched product was unique in style and the use of aluminum legs and beam gave it a very distinct look from the conventional modular furniture systems.
''I'M'' was specially designed in the Wipro's innovative design house, he said adding so far the company had invested over Rs 100 crore at its existing manufacturing facility at Waluj in Aurangabad, Maharashtra especially for "I'M" and other premium range products.
He said the present market potential for the modular range of furniture products accounts for about Rs 1,000 crore while that of conventional chairs was Rs 600 crore.
Describing ''I'M'' range as innovative and exciting, he said it was designed to suit contemporary new age offices and the company had filed three product patent applications for it.
''Its launch positions us as a design company and we will be soon introducing new premium designs in furniture and seating, designed by leading international designers exclusively for Wipro'', he said.
Responding to questions, Mr Agarwal said company's Chennai manufacturing facility for chairs was cent per cent manned by women.
''All the jobs, including design, manufacturing and assembly are solely handled by women's work force,'' he said.
