Three held for selling gold coins, pots worth Rs 42 lakh
Pune, Nov 8 (UNI) Crime branch sleuths today arrested three labourers and seized from them gold coins and pots worth Rs 42 lakh found during digging work at Shaniwar Peth here.
Acting on a tip-off, Shivaappa Godekar (40), Mallesh Nadwankari (25) (both residents of Karnataka) and Bhishma Bansod (40) were nabbed and also recovered from them 1,525 gm of gold coins and pots worth Rs 22 lakh, police said.
During the interrogation, the trio revealed that they were selling coins to a city-based jeweller.
Later, police arrested the jeweller, Surajman Agarwal, and recovered from him 422 coins and 1.650 kg of gold coins worth of Rs 20 lakh, they added.
