Three candidates withdraw papers in Rajouri

Jammu, Nov 8 (UNI) Three candidates withdrew their nomination papers in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, which is going to polls in the second phase of Assembly elections on November 23, official sources said here today.

''Independent candidates Mohd Fareed and Junaid Hussain, withdrew their nominations from Kalakote while Ayodhya Nath, also an Independent, opted out from Nowshera constituencies yesterday,'' the sources said.

A total of 74 candidates had filed nomination papers for four Assembly constituencies of Rajouri district out of which nine were rejected during scrutiny so far.

''Now 62 candidates have been left in the fray after three withdrew from the race while more candidates are expected to quit on the last day of filing nomination by today evening,'' they said.
