Nine more candidates file nomination papers for Pale assembly seat

Panaji, Nov 8 (UNI) Nine more candidates filed their nomination papers on the last day of the filing of the nominations today before the Bicholim deputy collector.

With today's nine nominations, total number of nomination papers filed have gone up to 15. Six candidates filed their nominations, yesterday said deputy collector Arvind Bugde.

The candidates who filed their nomination papers today included Dr Pramod Sawant (BJP), Subhash Malik (BJP-dummy), Baburao Gaude (SGF-dummy), Dr Suresh Amonkar (Independent) (one more set), Satu Mukund Maienkar (Independent) and Rajendra Rane (Independent).

Pratap Gauns and his wife Geeta (both Congress), former BJP health minister Dr Suresh Amonkar, Rajendra Narayanrao Rane (both independents) and Jose Lobo of SGF (two sets) had yesterday filed their nomination papers.

The nominations will be scrutinised on November 10. The last day for withdrawal of nomination is November 12.
