Mandi Medical College Sangharsh Samiti opposes govt's notification

Shimla, Nov 8 (UNI) Mandi Medical College Sangharsh Samiti today demanded the Himachal Pradesh Government to withdraw its notification to attach Regional Government Hospital Mandi with Greenfield Projects.

"The government wants to handover the Mandi Regional Hospital, which has infrastrure worth Rs 500 crore and 25 acres land at Raghunath Padhar having estimated value of about Rs 80 crore, to a private project and had issued a notification to this effect on July 15," Mandi Medical College Sangharsh Samiti Co-ordinator Sunder Lohia said while addressing a press conference here.

"We will continue to hold our agitation against this move of the governmnet," he said and claimed the support of about 60 other organisations.

He alleged that about 150 cases had been registered on their activists who were observing chain hunger strike since October 20.
