Kashmir a bilateral issue : Pranab
Kolkata, Nov 8 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today made it clear that Kashmir was a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and would be resolved between the two countries.
Commenting on US President-elect Barack Obama's desire to appoint former US President Bill Clinton as a special envoy on Kashmir, Mr Mukherjee said, ''It is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan. '' '' The Kashmir issue has to be hammered out in conformity to the Shimla Agreement and subsequently the Lahore Agreement. Discussions will be held within the framework of the composite dialogue, '' the External Affairs Minister said on the sidelines of the curtain raiser for the BIMSTEC Summit, 2008.
