Lucknow, Nov 8 (UNI) Following the directions of Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh government has shifted the district police chief and three police inspectors of Hardoi, where the by-poll to Hardoi assembly seat is scheduled on November 15.

Pradeep Chandra, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Hardoi, has been replaced by Ashok Kumar after the panel of officers was sent to EC, Anuj Kumar Vishnoi, the chief electoral officer of UP told UNI this evening.

He said the three police inspectors had also been shifted from the district.

Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) had lodged a complaint in this regard demanding from EC to transfer DM and SP of Hardoi to ensure a fair and free by-poll.
