Conference on Hydro Power Projects held
Shimla, Nov. 08 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Avay Shukla presided over the second Conference on Hydro Power Projects organized by Himurja and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy at Himachal Institute of Public Administration at Fairlawns near Shimla today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shukla said that State Government was making every effort to facilitate entrepreneurs investing in the State and added that they could access all information from the government website and fulfill the required conditions to ensure early clearance of their projects.
He said that State Government was serious about protection of environment, which was a priority area and added that only those projects, which fulfilled environment objectives, were being accorded approval.
He asked the entrepreneurs to restrict the number of transmission corridors while making optimum utilisation of land. He stressed that projects should identify the muck dumping sites in the project proposals itself.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Mittal, Principal Secretary MPP& Power said that the Conference was providing a platform for holding fruitful deliberations with the entrepreneurs on various issues related to exploitation of hydro potential as well as addressing their entrepreneurs.
Detailed discussions were held with the entrepreneurs and investors in the Conference.
