Beyonce wants to become the first black Wonder Woman

Washington, November 8 : Beyonce Knowles thinks its high time the screen saw its first black Wonder Woman and is keen on playing the superhero.

The 27-year-old superstar, who has previously starred in box office hits such as 'The Pink Panther' and the 'Dreamgirls' while continuing to be a consistently successful singer, said that she would love to be a black 'Wonder Woman'.

"What would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?" the People quoted her as telling the Los Angeles Times.

The R and B songwriter further added that it would be a dream-come-true if she played the iconic character donning the classic red, white and blue bathing suit on the big screen.

She said: "But I love Wonder Woman and it'd be a dream come true to be that character. It sure would be handy to have that lasso."
