Woman and daughter drown in deep well

Kolhapur, Nov 7 (UNI) A woman and her minor daughter drowned in a deep well at village Madhyal in jurisdiction of Ajra police station in the district.

The deceased were identified as Shakuntala Vilas Bhiung (28) and her daughter Vaishnavi (8), police sources said today.

The incident took place when Vaishnavi went to the well to fill her bottle with drinking water. she fell into the well and hearing her cries, her mother Shankuntala, who was standing near a field, rushed to the spot to save her daughter.

However, both drowned in the deep well water yesterday, police sources added.
