TVS stages demo for sugar cane procurement price

Perambalur, Nov 7 (UNI) Members of the Tamilaga Vivasayegal Sangam (TVS), led by its Tamil Nadu unit Secretary Raja Chidambaram staged a novel demonstration by sporting vermilion on their forehead and covering their face with a piece of cloth, while a few others carried sugar cane, in front of the Perambalur Sugar Mills at Eraiyur near here today.

They were demanding that the Centre and the state government should fix Rs 2,000 as the procurement price for per tonne of sugar cane.
