SBI slated to open new branches in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 7(UNI) The Tamil Nadu Circle of the State Bank of India (SBI) will set up 150 new branches and 650 more ATMs in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next one year period, according to J Chandrasekaran, Chief General Manager local Head Office, SBI Tamil Nadu Circle.

Addressing a press conference here today, he said that the circle consisting of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has 670 branches and 550 ATMs.

He claimed that the SBI is the only bank to have achieved cent percent coverage of core banking system in all its branches across the country.

The new branches will also connect with the core banking system on the very first day of its inauguration. They target to disburse loans to various sectors to achieve 40 per cent growth, he said.

The SBI Tamil Nadu circle has netted a record deposit of Rs 2,000 crore in a single month, during the last month, he added.

Earlier, inaugurating an exclusive cell for the pensioners (Pensioners corner) at the SBI main branch here, he said that there were 3 lakh pensioners with the SBI.
