Over 125 lakh tonnes paddy procured in Punjab
Chandigarh, Nov 7 (UNI) The six government agencies and millers have procured over 125,48,006 tonnes of paddy in Punjab, official figures released today said.
The five state procurement agencies have accounted for 90 per cent of the purchase while FCI procured around 2,00,025 tonnes of paddy (1.7 per cent). The millers have procured 9,57,179 tonnes of paddy (7.6 per cent).
The agencies have paid over Rs 9,302.60 crores for paddy procured to the farmers.
