CPI lodges complaint to ECI

Raipur, November 7 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) today alleged that Central Reserve Police Forece (CRPF) was harassing the party workers at the behest of the leader of opposition Mahendra Karma and lodged complaint with the Election Commission of India.

The state unit secretary of the party C L Patel in his complaint sent to the ECI said that the CRPF jawans had dragged out the villagers from their houses at Kadampal village in Dantewada's Kirandul region in early morning and took them to police station after beating them up.

He said the CPI activists gheraoed the police station as soon as they got the news and the vollagers were released after hours.

In the complaints the party had apprehended that Mr Karma had lost his cool seeing the strong position of the party and might lodge fake cases and applealed to initiate action to stop the incidents of violation of model code of conduct.
