Borders adjoining Shivpuri to be sealed
Shivpuri, Nov 7 (UNI) In order to ensure free and fair assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, borders in Rajasthan adjoining Shivpuri region would be sealed.
The decision was taken during a meeting of senior police and administrative officials from Kota, Baro and Jhalawad divisions in Rajasthan and Gwalior-Chambal division in Madhya Pradesh.
Divisional Commissioner (Gwalior) Komal Singh said polling was scheduled to take place in Madhya Pradesh on November 27 and Rajasthan on December 4. Patrolling would be carried out in border areas and intensive checking carried out by placing barriers at main roads.
Police officials from both states would regularly exchange information over telephone.
Divisional Commissioner (Kota) Madhukar Gupta said the meeting decided that arms would be deposited at police stations, while special attention would be paid that liquor was not sold.
