Bangalore, Nov 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today demanded the UPA government at the Centre to intervene and facilitate talks with the state and Tamil Nadu on contentious Hogenakkal water project.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, he said the government had already lodged a strong protest with the Centre on this matter.

''Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai met the Union Secretary for Water Recourses to express the State's deep concern over the project,'' he said.

He said the BJP government would take all parties into confidence before taking the final stand on the issue.
