Goa governor urges secretaries to strive for excellence

Panaji, Nov 6 (UNI) Goa Governor Shivinder Singh Sidhu has asked company secretaries to strive to fortify themselves with the latest knowledge, skills and expertise to handle the emerging challenges.

In his inaugural address to the three-day 36th National Convention of Company Secretaries, organised by Institute of Company Secretaries of India on the theme ''Achieving Excellence Through Innovation'' at Kala Academy here, Mr Sidhu said the company secretaries are not only aware of larger social responsibility but also eminently equipped to discharge them satisfactorily.

Expressing satisfaction over the significant contribution made by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India to the industrial and economic spheres of the country during the last 36 years of its existence, the Governor said this was possible on account of its specialized knowledge, dedicated service and sterling professionalism.
