DRO overrules objections
Korba, Chhattisgarh, Nov 6 (UNI) The District Returning Officer (DRO) has overruled objections against the nomination of a Congress candidate and BJP nominee, who submitted papers from Korba assembly constituency.
During scrutiny on Tuesday, BJP candidate Banwari Lal Agrawal demanded that his Congress counterpart Jai Singh Agrawal's nomination be rejected under various sections of the Representation of the People Act, as he was allegedly involved in government contracts.
In a tit-for-tat move, Mr J S Agrawal said Mr B L Agrawal's papers should not be accepted as he was allegedly involved in illegal activities and provided incomplete and misleading information regarding criminal cases.
DRO Ashok Agrawal rejected the objections after a hearing.
