Cong condemns Naidu's remarks
Vijayawada, Nov 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) official spokesperson P Venkata Rao (MLC) today criticised TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu for stating at the 'Yuvagarjan' meeting yesterday that the youth power would drown the Congress in the coming elections.
Addressing a press conference here, he said Congrss was a strong party and it had history.
Stating that earlier also leaders like Morarji Desai, Charan Singh and Devi Lal tried to do so but they got only temporary benefits, he said no party could do anything to another party if people of the country continue to support it.
The language used by Mr Naidu and other leaders in the meeting was unacceptable in political life, he said, adding Mr Naidu spoke only about his relatives and forgot those Dalit leaders who contributed to TDP since its inception.
He alleged Mr Naidu did not announce his party's views on economic, social and political policies.
Mr Rao said TDP claimed it was a secular party but it had an alliance with BJP and now was seeking alliance with the Left.
However, TDP legislators D Umamaheswara Rao, N Amarnathreddy and Premender Reddy denied the State Finance Minister K Rosaiah's remarks that yesterday's meeting was a failuer.
