Authorities imposes Sec 144 in three Kashmir districts
Srinagar, Nov 6 (UNI) The Authorities in three districts in the Kashmir valley today imposed Section 144 of CrPC for two days to foil any attempt to take out processions.
An official spokesman said the District Magistrate, Kupwara has imposed Section 144 in the district for two days, starting today.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrates of Budgam and Baramulla have also imposed restrictions under Section 144 in their respective districts for November 6 and 7.
However, regarding any election campaign fixed for today and tomorrow by any political or candidate, prior permission of the District Magistrate shall be mandatory.
Under Section 144, as such five or more people shall not assemble at any place in the district.
Official sources however, said the step was taken to prevent people from joining the 'Jamia Masjid chalo' march call, which was given by the Coordination Committee (CC), spearheading the present agitation in Kashmir.
