Amar Singh reveals property, valuables worth Rs 37 cr

Lucknow, Nov 6 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh has revealed that he and his family members have movable and immovable properties and valuables worth around Rs 37 crores.

Mr Singh, who filed an affadavit of his properties and other assets detail along with his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections, said he had already paid Income Tax of Rs 1.99 crore during the current fiscal along with Rs 60,735 as wealth tax to the government.

However, Income tax of Rs 11.93 lakhs were still to be paid by Mr Singh, the affadavit said. Mr Singh also do not have any valuables or funds in the name of either of his twin daughters Disha and Drishti except for a LIC of Rs 2.5 lakhs each in the name of the twins.

According to his affadavit, he and his wife, Pankaja, have Rs 10 lakhs cash in hand. While bank deposits of Mr Singh is Rs 3.47 crore, his wife has Rs 2.25 crore. The family has bonds, debentures and shares worth Rs 16.60 crore, while they have PPF, NSS and LIC of Rs 7.06 lakhs.

The SP general secretary owns two vehicles, including a Toyota Lancruiser, while they have jewellery including diamonds worth over Rs 3.32 crore. They have also got watches, furnitures, mutual funds and others amounting to Rs 8.23 crore.

As per the details of the immovable assets, they have agricultural land worth Rs 50 lakhs, a plot in Noida sector-44 worth Rs 1.75 crore, 2 flats at Greater Kailash of Rs one crore each, one flat each at Bangalore and Koltaka valued Rs 7 crore, a commercial building at Kasturba Gandhi Marg Delhi valued Rs one crore, a bunglow in Lucknow valued 2.8 crore and a house in Azamgarh worth Rs 9 lakhs.

Contrarily, another SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, who is the first cousin of party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, have properties and valuable worth only over Rs 71 lakhs.

SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav possesses land worth Rs 32.43 lakhs, a plot in Vrindavan scheme in Lucknow and a house each in Safai and Agra having total worth of Rs 23.69 lakhs. He also has three firearms worth Rs 1.20 lakhs and airconditioners valued Rs 2.83 lakhs.
