66,000 port workers to get higher productivity linked reward

New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) About 66,000 port and dock workers and employees will now get a higher productivity-linked reward from 2006-07 to 2009-10.

The Union Cabinet today approved paying productivity-linked reward to port and dock workers and officers as per the increased ceiling limit of wage at Rs 3,500 a month.

''This will benefit about 66,000 port and dock workers and officers,'' Minister of State in the PMO Prithviraj Chavan told reporters after the Cabinet approval.
