UP CM greets US President-elect Obama on his victory
Lucknow, Nov 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has greeted the newly elected President of the US, Barack Obama, and conveyed her good wishes to him.
In a message here today, Ms Mayawati said the people of America had shown maturity by voting against racial discrimination and inequality and by electing Mr Obama, who belonged to the deprived section.
His victory has proved that people of the deprived sections could also reach the pinnacle of power in a democratic set-up, she said, adding, the cooperation between India and America would further strengthen and increase during Mr Obama's regime.
Political leaders in the state, including Apana Dal national president Sonelal Patel, have also expressed happiness on the selction of Mr Obama as the US President-elect.
