SP agitates demolition of Sardar Patel's bust, hands memo

Deoria, Nov 5 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) activists today created commotion here and handed over a memorandum, seeking action against Chief Minister Mayawati and the Pratapgarh District Magistrate for bulldozing the idol of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

A mob-led by SP MP from Deoria Mohan Singh ranted anti-state government slogans and handed over the memorandum addressing to Governor T V Rajeswar to the Additional District Magistrate in the regard.

Mr Singh alleged that the bust of a great leader Sardar Patel was razed by the DM in Pratapgarh on the orders of the state government.

''It is a shameless act,'' he added.
