K'taka to come out with semi-conductor policy

Bangalore, Nov 5 (UNI) Karnataka IT Minister Katta Subramaniya Naidu today said the State Government will soon introduce a semi-conductor Policy to give boost to the hardware sector in the State.

Mr Naidu told reporters here that Karnataka will be the first State in the country to introduce such a policy to give a boost to the hardware manufacturing companies, numbering more than 100, located in the State.

Stating that Karnataka leads in the number of hardware companies, he said the government would first come out with an IT policy before the end of this month followed by the semi-conductor Policy.

The semi-conductor Policy will be introduced before December 15, he said.

A three-day IT mela starting from tomorrow in the city will also help in the preparation of the new policies, he said.
