JD(U) MPs to resign on November 7 on Maharashtra issue

Patna, Nov 05 (UNI) All JD(U) MPs will resign from Lok Sabha on November 7 to protest the attack on Biharis in Maharashtra.

National spokesman of the party and Rajya Sabha MP Shivanand Tiwari said here today that all its five MPs would submit their resignations to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on November 7.

''The decision for enmasse resignation of the party MPs has been taken to register the protest against the violence unleashed on Biharis by disruptive elements in Maharashtra'', he said.

Mr Tiwari said that JD(U) MLAs in Bihar would not resign on Maharashtra issue as suggested by RJD president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. If the plea of Mr Prasad was accepted by the JD(U) and other political parties, it would create circumstances for imposition of President's rule in the Bihar, he added.
